The mission of the Wei Tuo Academy is to improve everyone’s life; each person at a time. The Wei Tuo Academy has opportunities for everyone to learn as much as they can about Qi Gong, Tai Chi (Tai Ji Quan), Kung Fu (Gong Fu), meditation, health, medicine, art…. The Wei Tuo Academy is a place to train the mind and body. It is a place to to learn how to use qi through exercising the mind and body as one. We also have a treatment room for those who need help getting back their health. Please come and enjoy the Wei Tuo Academy and all it has to offer.

Qi Gong Kung Fu

Qi Gong is a slow movement practice to strengthen qi flow. It is designed to maintain and improve health both physically and mentally. It balances and connects them. It strengthens the body's immune system, helps regulate digestion and much more. It teaches us to be healthy, strong without strain, and some consider it to be the secret of all martial arts! It is great for every one of all ages. No matter a person's age, there will be some imbalances, and Qi Gong is the way back to balance.

Kung Fu is more than fighting or self-defense. It is about a whole way of life and to “know thyself, the greatest of all victories” and “to know yourself is enlightenment”. In this process, students learn self-confidence, will power, virtue, discipline, humility, harmony in the self, and most importantly how to use qi. Kung Fu classes at the Wei Tuo Academy also include philosophy, basic Traditional Chinese Medicine, meditation, nutrition, and other useful knowledge that will take a person far in life.

Tai Chi Meditation

Tai Chi (or Tai Ji Quan) is more than an exercise to relax and find balance. It can be similar to Qi Gong because qi is the base to Tai Ji Quan (read about the differences). As part of the training, we learn to control the mind and body and learn the connections between the two. Tai Ji Quan teaches self-confidence, will power, virtue, discipline, humility, harmony in the self and in nature. Tai Ji Quan taught at the Wei Tuo Academy also include philosophy, basic Traditional Chinese Medicine, meditation, nutrition, and even the martial arts behind the movements. Tai Ji Quan helps teach a person to live strong that will take a person far in life.

Meditation is more than sitting down and relaxing to music. In fact, at the Wei Tuo Academy we meditate in silence focusing on how to use qi to learn about the self. The mind can be wild or unmanageable at times. This is exhausting and works against us. Many people feel they cannot meditate because they cannot focus. Everyone has this hurdle, even the greatest masters started with a wild mind that they learned to control. It takes time and patience, the true meaning and hardest practice of Kung Fu.
