Medical Qi Gong

Medical Qi Gong is a practice of Qi Gong that is designed specifically to heal patients.  It is a relatively new practice, starting as it is known today only about 60 years ago.  It is a practice where one can receive a degree DMQ (Doctor of Medical Qigong) at schools in China, other countries including America.  It is a three year program to complete. It uses the same philosophies and theories as acupuncture and tui-na, but uses the direct focus on qi flow without needles. Its base of practice is learning Qi Gong and practicing it to understand the flow of qi through the body.  Traditionally, it was part of the regular Qi Gong training for all training of martial arts, Qi Gong, Tai Ji Quan etc… now, it is  an emphasized practice shining light on the medical side of Qi Gong not only for one self, but for a practitioner of Qi Gong to help and treat others.

The DMQ practitioner usually works about a foot away from the client's body, and sometimes lightly touches the patient to guide and manipulate the movement of qi for the body to heal itself.
