Confidence
There are two words Wei Tuo Academy students are forbidden to say: “I can’t.” Confidence is being self-assured. This means that a person believes in him or her self. “I can’t” sets up an attitude that will prevent progress. Confidence means rising above challenges. It lets a person know that obstacles, difficulty, and hardship are only things that get in the way, but there is always many ways around them and success a step away. Confidence is being positive in the worst of times. It means determination, yet knowing when to quit and try something else and not becoming depressed. A student of Wu Gong learns to stay cool-headed in any situation. It allows our mind and body to be healthy. Confidence is keeping poise and loyalty to oneself which will lead to success. There is a healthy level of confidence. If people are not careful, too much of it may lead to arrogance. We need humility to keep self-confidence at a healthy level.
