Intermediate Qi Gong: Eagle Drill
The Eagle is the drill for the Metal Element. Therefore, the main focus of the Eagle drill is balancing the qi in the lungs and large intestine. It helps “clean out” the inner meridians: chong, dai, wei, and qiao. The Eagle is particularly helpful for diseases such as hepatitis, respiratory diseases, high blood pressure, digestive disorders, arthritis, gall stones, lower back pain, kidney dysfunction, and blood disorders.
The movements of raising and lowering the qi, throwing the qi, and spiraling the knees to the hips strengthen all the dan tians in the body. The movements of “flapping” your wings start from the feet raising to the shoulders, to the elbows, then to the hands.
As you can see, the movements are designed after the movements of the eagle.
