Intermediate Kung Fu
With a good basic knowledge of the body movement, breath, and focus, we combine the punches and kicks together into forms. There are many forms to learn, but a form isn't a memorization of a set of punches and kicks; it is the ability to flow from one movement to the other with speed, accuracy, and power. In the Beginning Kung Fu Movements class we learn how to relax and how to move, but in Intermediate Kung Fu we practice to understand change, flow, and continuity from the movements to everyday life. Therefore one also must learn philosophy, wisdom, virtues, a little medicine, etc...
The movements includes a variation of Tan Tui, Yan Qing Quan, and of course forms from the Wei Tuo Lineage. Each form gives the practitioner a better understanding of muscle flow, connection, and the difference between muscle extension and contraction. While learning all these complexities of the human body and mind, we learn that every movement has a purpose.
The movements are also designed to be practical in self-defense. Sometimes the movements are simple, sometimes the movements are complex. However, through repetition it is easy to learn. We repeat the movements to develop speed and power through ease of relaxation mentally, physically, and spiritually.
