Intermediate Tai chi
The movements that we learn coordinate the movements of the feet, waist, torso, arms and hands. The motions are similar to that of a whip, all kung fu masters teach that. The energy flows naturally without being impeded. The relaxation and qi sensation is improved through each movement. Everything works is circles, practicing the tai chi movements allows us to focus on a few movements by repeating them again and again. This will allow our muscle memory to take over and then the movements just move themselves. When this happens, we can practice with other things to focus on many things such as martial art application or qi flow.
We start with Wild Horse Parts its Mane, Brush Knee, Repulsing the Monkey, Cloud Hands to name a few. Then after a student is comfortable with these movements, it is easy to put into Yang Style Tai Chi 24 Step. There are many forms to learn, and Yang Style 24 Step is only one of them. It is important to remember that the form, or step, is only the outside exercise, the real exercise comes from repeating and self discovery through practicing the basics everyday repeatedly. Many people throughout thousands of years have mistakenly believed that the basics are not as important as the advanced levels. The secret to the master’s power lies in the repetition of the basics.
