Intermediate Qi Gong: Tiger Drill

The Tiger Drill is the drill for the fire element. The fire element’s meridians are the heart and the small intestines. So it will help balance the mind as well as the heart itself. One of the movements stimulates the cerebellum of the brain. So it will also help with mental capabilities.

The movements of the Tiger, needless to say, are similar to a tiger. The hands curl up into a “paw”. The twisting stretches are focused on turning the vertebrae to open the vertebrae and cartilage. The expanding stretches are focused on opening the muscles throughout the back, which helps to open the gao huang acupoints on the shoulders, helps back pain, strengthens the spinal cord. It is also good for feet and leg strength. The twists help open the flow of qi in the urinary bladder meridians. The Tiger helps the heart and blood circulation, indigestion, mental capabilities, and back, neck and shoulder pains.
