Kung Fu

Kung Fu is more than fighting or self-defense. It is about a whole way of life and to "know thyself, the greatest of all victories" and "to know yourself is enlightenment": wisdom from different sages from around the world. In this process, students learn self-confidence, will power, virtue, discipline, humility, harmony in the self and in nature, and many more positive character attributes. Kung Fu classes at the Wei Tuo Academy also include philosophy, basic Traditional Chinese Medicine, meditation, nutrition, and other useful knowledge that will take a person far in life.

Kids Kung Fu

This Kung Fu class is for ages 5-14. It is a demanding class that requires discipline, dedication, and heart. However, we also have a good time.

Beginning Kung Fu Basics

Kung Fu a great all around exercise. We start with the core practices which includes breathing, posture, stretching, lower body strengthening, stance work and standing meditation. These are the basics that any martial artist must master, and anyone who wants to be healthy should practice.

Intermediate Kung Fu

With a good basic knowledge of the body movement, breath, and focus, we combine the punches and kicks together into forms. In Chinese, they are called quan tao. We also learn philosophy, morality/virtue, a little Traditional Chinese Medicine and qi flow.

Advanced Kung Fu

Advanced Kung Fu is centered on learning how to use the movements in forms in sparring and or fighting situations. Also, we discover how and when we move, we move with qi. The reason we wait for such a long time to learn sparring and fighting is to discover our own selves and to determine if a student is morally grounded to learn how to harm another being.
