Why are there no belts in Kung Fu?
There are no belts at the Wei Tuo Academy because we believe that they are unnecessary in a person’s development of understanding and ability. Belts often give a false feeling of success. This is not the case of all martial arts studio, but it is for many. Our tests differ for each person to see if they are ready to progress to the next lesson. Tests, unknowingly, are each class. Each class the student must show a progression of not only ability, even in the smallest amount, but also understanding of the philosophy, basic anatomy, basic Traditional Chinese Medicine, and how to apply them in daily life and application of these in self-defense.
