Kinds of Treatment
Traditional Chinese Medicine is focused on treating patients by different means. All work toward balancing the body to find its own way back to health. This way TCM is aiming at healing the root of the problem, not covering the symptoms.
Acupuncture is the use of needles inserted into the skin to guide qi through the body for optimal health.
Cupping is used to extract excess heat in the body which speeds up the healing process.
Gua sha is used to relieve excess heat, such as a fever, in the body.
Moxibustion is used to warm injuries that feel cold. The cold prevents qi and blood circulation.
Tui-na is basically acupressure. It is similar to acupuncture but without the needles.
